College Preparatory Diploma Requirements at John Milledge Academy
A minimum of 24 units is required for graduating with a College Preparatory Diploma.
- English: 4 units
- Math: 4 units
- Science: 4 units
- Social Studies: 4 units
- Foreign Language: 2 units of the same language
- PE/Health: 1 unit
- Electives: 5 units

Honor Graduates
Cum Laude Graduates are those students who meet the following criteria:
- Maintain an overall average of 90 for their 4 years of upper school (grades 9-12),
- Have no major disciplinary record for their 4 years of upper school,
- Academic rigor should include:
- A minimum of 6 honors courses
- One AP Class and/or two dual enrollment classes
Magna Cum Laude Graduates are those students who meet the following criteria:
- Exceed the Honor Graduate criteria with a cumulative average of 93 or above,
- Have no major disciplinary record for their 4 years of upper school,
- Minimum number of 9 honors level classes in core subjects in grades 9-11.
- Academic rigor should include a minimum of three or more of the following courses:
- Highest math or dual enrollment equivalent,
- AP US History, AP Government, or dual enrollment equivalent,
- AP English 11, AP English 12, or English 1101-1102 at GCSU,
- AP Biology or dual enrollment equivalent.
Only these students are eligible for Valedictorian and Salutatorian who have met the Magna Cum Laude requirements plus:
- Valedictorian (summa cum laude): the senior with the highest grade average for the upper school years. Student must have attended John Milledge Academy for a minimum of 3 semesters and taken the most challenging science, English, social studies, and math courses as a Senior.
- Salutatorian (summa cum laude): the senior with the second highest grade average for the upper school years. Student must have attended John Milledge Academy for a minimum of 3 semesters and taken the most challenging science, English, social studies, and math courses as a Senior.
